Kate Middleton is undertaking a powerful outing amid her cancer recovery.

On June 4, the Princess of Wales, 44, visited The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester to highlight the healing power of holistic care, alongside clinical care, for individuals living with and beyond cancer.

The engagement was personal for Princess Kate, who announced in March 2024 that she was receiving treatment for cancer. The royal said in September 2024 that she completed chemotherapy and shared in January 2025 that she was in remission.

Princess Kate stepped out solo to visit Christie's, which is considered to be one of Europe's leading cancer centers and cares for over 60,000 people a year. The hub uniquely offers complementary and holistic therapies free of charge and provides a range of therapies to address symptoms common with cancer diagnoses and treatment, including stress, depression, fear, worry and anxiety-induced nausea.

Video shared to X by Emily Ferguson of the Daily Express showed that Kate was all smiles as she arrived and that staff lined up to see her inside.

The Princess of Wales kicked off her visit to Christie's in Withington at the Oak Road Treatment Centre, where she met staff and patients undergoing chemotherapy. The royal met with people receiving complementary therapy and heard about how it elevated their physical and emotional well-being. According to the Cleveland Clinic, complementary medicine can include massage, meditation, tai chi, reiki, music therapy, guided imagery, biofeedback and dietary supplements.

Princess Kate then headed to the art room to meet resident artist Patricia Mountford and joined an art session with patients there, hearing about how creative expression has helped their recoveries.

Kate is also slated to spend time with gardener Phil Walker to understand how the well-being garden provides patients and staff with the chance to pause and reflect. Prince William's wife has previously said that she found solace in the outdoors during her cancer journey and described nature as her family's "sanctuary" during the difficult time.

The princess will wrap up her tour at the Christie's Teenage and Young Adult unit to meet young patients, their families and staff, and hear about the center's therapeutic, social and recreational activities designed to support youth.

Kate's visit to Christie's marks her second royal engagement focused on cancer this week. On June 2, the Princess of Wales joined her father-in-law, King Charles, who continues to undergo treatment for a cancer diagnosis announced in 2024, and Queen Camilla at a royal reception commemorating the 125th anniversary of Cancer Research UK.

The outing was significant as Kate and the King's first joint engagement championing a cancer-related cause after their diagnoses were disclosed in 2024.
