Miles Morales fans can rejoice — the beloved animated web-slinging hero might be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the near future.
Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, teased plans to incorporate Spider-Verse‘s Miles Morales into a live-action movie after the current trilogy wraps up. Marvel first debuted Miles (voiced by Shameik Moore), the second major Spider-Man, in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and his story continued in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
The trilogy concludes with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is slated for release on June 18, 2027.

“The good news is, Sony has the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse series, which are very popular and excellent, and Beyond the Spider-Verse is coming out next year,” Feige, 53, told China’s Watching Hollywood while doing press for Tom Holland‘s upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. “But yes, we definitely have plans [for a live-action Miles], and I think a live-action Spider-Man movie has this destiny: to add Miles sometime after the Spider-Verse series ends.”
The last Spider-Verse movie left off with Miles trapped in an alternate universe as he attempts to save his family and loved ones. Holland’s Spider-Man had a similar experience as the multiverse was introduced in the last entry in his franchise, 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire both reprised their roles as New York City’s friendly neighborhood superhero, bringing all the villains from their respective franchises along with them.

In one scene, Jamie Foxx‘s character, Electro, says, “Somewhere there’s bound to be a Black Spider-Man.”
“Audiences around the world were thrilled because they knew it might be a hint at Spider-Man Miles,” Feige said of the moment.
Feige added, “We’ve been thinking and discussing more Spider-Man adventures, regardless of agreements or contracts. My production partner, Amy Pascal, is already working on it, and we’ve had in-depth discussions about what the next two, three, four, and five Spider-Man movies might be about.”
In May 2023, Pascal told Variety that a live-action Miles Morales movie — and a Spider-Woman movie — were “all happening.”

Just weeks later, Moore, 31, said that he only had one person in mind to play the live-action version of his character: himself.
“I think whoever gets the opportunity to play Miles Morales has a large responsibility,” he shared in an interview with The Hook. “I think people would expect an iconic performance to follow up these three films. It’s an entire responsibility.”
For now, Feige is promoting Brand New Day, which sees Holland, 30, reprise his role as Peter Parker after the rest of the world’s memory of his identity has been wiped. Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo also star.
