King Charles and Queen Camilla's visit to Washington, D.C., wasn't complete without a glam night at the White House.

Hours after the monarch gave a rousing speech to Congress, the royal couple attended a state dinner hosted by President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump on Tuesday, April 28.

Queen Camilla, 78, went without a tiara for the dinner (despite Queen Elizabeth wearing one for a similar event during her 2007 visit to the U.S.), but she brought the bling with an amethyst and diamond necklace that has been passed down through the royal family for generations. She paired the accessory with a pink Fiona Clare evening gown.

Melania, 56, also wore pink for the event, sporting a strapless gown by Christian Dior Haute Couture with off-white Dior suede gloves.

The menu for the dinner included three courses, starting with a delicate garden herb velouté, silken and aromatic, complemented by a refreshing hearts of palm salad and finished with crisp toasted shallots and micro mint. Guests were then served handcrafted spring herb ravioli, featuring herbs from the White House Kitchen Garden, and a classic dover sole meunière. For dessert, guests will be served a beehive-shaped chocolate gâteau with a smooth vanilla bean crémeux custard set inside with an almond joconde, complemented with crème fraîche ice cream and White House honey.

Three wines were chosen to honor the heritage and enduring friendship between the U.S. and the U.K.

The evening’s entertainment will feature performances by the U.S. military musicians from the Marines, Army and Air Force.

King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in the nation's capital on Monday, April 27, where they were greeted by the Trumps with a private tea and a garden party.

Tuesday's agenda began with a ceremonial welcome at the White House, where the president gave a speech.

King Charles also made history as only the second-ever British monarch to deliver an address to a joint meeting of Congress. King Charles' mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, became the first when she delivered a speech at the Capitol in 1991.

Ahead of the royal visit, President Trump — who has recently butted heads with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer — expressed excitement and optimism when asked if his meeting with King Charles could ease tensions between the two nations.

"Absolutely. He's fantastic," Trump raved in an interview with the BBC. "He's a fantastic man. Absolutely, the answer is yes."

"I know him well, I've known him for years," he added. "He's a brave man, and he's a great man. They would absolutely be a positive."

King Charles and Queen Camilla are undertaking a four-day visit to the United States, which is being held in honor of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence from the United Kingdom.

On Wednesday, April 29, the royals will depart Washington, D.C. and head to New York City for a series of engagements, including a visit to One World Trade Center to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

They will then travel to Virginia to meet local residents and community organizations, and they are set to attend a “block party” in a national park to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

After their U.S. trip wraps up, the royals will then head to Bermuda. That visit will be King Charles' first trip as monarch to an overseas British territory.
