Love Island USA contestant Alannah Keyser's fate on the show has been revealed.

On Thursday, Peacock confirmed to PEOPLE that Keyser will no longer appear on Love Island USA, following season 8, episode 20.

The 21-year-old Casa Amor bombshell, who was introduced during the Sunday, June 21 episode of Love Island USA, was scrutinized by viewers after a resurfaced video began circulating online, appearing to show her using a racial slur while singing along to a song.

The clip appears to show Keyser, currently a full-time University of Southern California film student, singing along to Roddy Ricch's 2019 song "The Box," which contains the N-word in its lyrics.

The controversy comes amid scrutiny around other contestants' past social media activity. Earlier this season, contestant Vasana Montgomery was removed from the cast after videos resurfaced that appeared to show her using the N-word. PEOPLE confirmed her exit on May 30.

“I want to address a couple videos from my teen years that have recently resurfaced,” Montgomery, 25, wrote in an Instagram Stories statement on June 3, one day after season 8 premiered. “In those videos, I used a racial slur. There is no excuse for it, and I am deeply sorry. I am embarrassed and disappointed by my words.”

“I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it has hurt and upset people,” she added.

Since filming the videos, Montgomery said she had “grown a lot as a person” and educated herself to “listen, learn, and better understand the impact that language" can have. “That growth does not erase my mistake, and I am not asking anyone to excuse it,” she wrote, adding that she believes “people should be held accountable for their actions,” but also in “growth, learning, and becoming better.”

“To anyone I hurt or disappointed, I am truly sorry,” she concluded.

The show has had similar controversies in previous seasons. During season 7, contestant Yulissa Escobar exited after videos resurfaced of her using the N-word in podcast clips. She later issued a public apology.

Later in the season, contestant Cierra Ortega's past use of racial slurs targeting Chinese people also resurfaced online. Following fan backlash, Ortega exited the series between episodes, with her departure attributed on-air to a “personal situation.” She later addressed the controversy in an Instagram video, acknowledging the allegations and apologizing.
