Angie Katsanevas and husband Shawn Trujillo are going their separate ways, a source tells PEOPLE.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 52, and Trujillo’s marriage issues were documented during filming for season 7 of the reality show earlier this year, and her costars became aware they were separated, says a source close to the cast.
The pair married in 1999 and co-founded Lunatic Fringe Salons, which now has locations in Utah, Idaho and Ohio. They share daughter Elektra, 15.
“They have separated officially months ago but are focused on Elektra and trying to stay civil co-parents,” adds the source. “Their business together is a big priority for them as well, that’s what they’re trying to figure out.”
PEOPLE reached out to reps for Bravo, Katsanevas and Trujillo for comment. Page Six was first to report the news.

Katsanevas was 19 years old when she met Trujillo at a hair salon where she was working as an assistant, according to Daily Dish. In season 4 of RHOSLC, she reflected on her first impression of him.
“I see this hot guy with huge muscles blow-drying hair, and I thought ‘I’ve got to get to know this guy.’ Good-looking, muscles and he could do my hair? It was love at first sight,” Katsanevas said at the time. “Thirty years later, here we are.”
In June 2021, Katsanevas gushed over Trujillo’s parenting in an Instagram post for Father’s Day.
“Science says choosing our mate is not left to blind chance. Our mate choice is based on certain qualities to create the perfect offspring. As a wild 21 year old girl, I was intuitively choosing the future father of my daughter,” she wrote. “He was handsome, strong, determined, focused, competitive, integral, with big muscles, big goals and big dreams. He wanted to be the best at everything he did. And when he became a father, he did just that.”

The former couple’s relationship has been called into question in the past. When Katsanevas became a main cast member of RHOSLC in season 4 (she also appeared in season 3 as a “friend”), rumors swirled among the women that Trujillo was cheating on Katsanevas with men.
When Katsanevas told Trujillo about the chatter, he denied it and got emotional about the impact the speculation would have on their daughter. He further reacted during an episode of Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen in October 2023.
“For me, it’s not a gay-straight thing, it’s an infidelity thing,” Trujillo explained. “We love our gay community, we’ve been embedded in it for 30 years now just based on what we do for our business.”
While their alleged marital issues continued to come up — Katsanevas even revealed that she and Trujillo hadn’t been on a date in over two years — she claimed they were in a good place at the season 4 reunion.
“I think the big thing is that there’s a couple weeks in there where you’re hearing about it on the internet, hearing about it in your business, because someone felt that they should drop that on national television,” she said.
“Thirty years ago, when Shawn and I first met, people would say, ‘Oh that guy’s hot’ or ‘He has nice legs’ while he was doing hair. ‘Is he gay?’ ‘No, that’s his wife over there.’ Once it was established that we were a couple in Salt Lake City, it wasn’t brought up.”
