Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller Rogen are a busy couple at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.

When Seth, 44, and Lauren, 45, checked in with PEOPLE at the festival’s Road to the Golden Globes party on Saturday, Sept. 12, they opened up about the unique experience they’re having at this year’s festival, where the married couple are debuting two movies they worked on together. Lauren directed her husband Seth opposite Anna Kendrick in the new movie Babies, and the couple also produced an animated movie titled Tangles, which Seth lends his voice to.

“Honestly, I’m really savoring it and I feel really lucky in this moment. I’m very happy,” Lauren says, regarding sharing two film premieres at the festival, held in Seth’s home country. “Yeah, it’s so nice. It’s just amazing when the people you love, you get to work with them and you’re proud of them and you’re amazed at what they do and the fact that it’s happening twice in the same festival is pretty crazy,” Seth adds.

Seth and Lauren have been married since 2011. The couple were first introduced by mutual friends in 2005, and Lauren has appeared in several of Seth’s comedies over the years, including roles in Superbad, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Observe and Report, 50/50 and Sausage Party. Miller turned toward film directing in 2018 with a movie titled Like Father and followed it up with Babies, in which Seth and Anna Kendrick play a married couple who welcome a friend (Kate Berlant) and her young daughter into their home for a temporary stay.

The couple also teamed up with Seth’s longtime writing and filmmaking partner Evan Goldberg to produce the animated movie Tangles, which centers around a young woman whose life is upended when her mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The movie’s voice cast includes Abbi Jacobson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Beanie Feldstein, Samira Wiley, Bowen Yang, Sarah Silverman, Pamela Adlon and Wanda Sykes.

Tangles also premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in France earlier this year. The movie comes after Lauren and Seth produced a 2025 documentary titled Taking Care, which followed their journey in caring for Lauren’s late mother Adele, who was diagnosed with genetic early-onset Alzheimer’s disease at age 55. Seth and Lauren have both been vocal about their experiences with the disease, and Lauren says their journey toward making Tangles started 10 years ago when she received a copy of the graphic novel it is based on from director Leah Nelson.

“I read the book, and I saw my family’s story in [author Sarah Leavitt’s] story,” Lauren says. “Our moms were both teachers and our dads were both extraordinarily, unbelievably giving of themselves. Anyway, all that stuff is in the movie, and then Seth read it, and also Leah’s approach to it just seemed so smart and so elegant, and the perfect way to take on something that is so emotional.”

Given their busy careers, Lauren and Seth tell PEOPLE they don’t mind bringing their work home with them. “It’s all blurred,” she says about how the couple balances work and personal time together. “I think there’s work happening at all times, but that’s because we both like what we do and we do the same thing, so if he’s working on something or I’m working on something, it feels natural.”

“It doesn’t feel like we’re not spending time together even when we’re working because we talk to each other a lot about what we’re working on,” Seth adds.

The Toronto International Film Festival runs through Sept. 20.
