Sheinelle Jones Jokes About Picking Northwestern Over Hillman College as Jenna Bush Hager Deadpans, 'It's Also Not a Real School'

Sheinelle Jones had some big dreams when it came to college.

On Monday, June 29 episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Jones, 48, and cohost Jenna Bush Hager talked about their college choices.

"I wanted to go to Hillman, but I didn't. Go Cats! Go Northwestern," Jones nonchalantly said, referencing the college at the center of A Different World.

"Well, it's also not a real school," Bush Hager, 44, pointed out.

"It's like I wanted to go to Bayside," she added, referencing the high school from Saved by the Bell. "It ain't real so I couldn't go there, you know?"

The show's Instagram account shared the moment, writing in the caption, "The A Different World reboot has Sheinelle nostalgic about Hillman College— Which fictional school did you want to attend? 👇 #JennaandSheinelle."

In May, fans of the original series, which aired for six seasons from 1987 to 1993, learned that Netflix's forthcoming sequel series will premiere exactly 39 years to the day of the original show's debut.

The newest class at Hillman also includes Alijah Kai as Rashida, Chibuikem Uche as Kojo, Cornell Young IV as Shaquille, Jordan Aaron Hall as Amir, and Kennedi Reece as Hazel. Many members of the original series are also slated to appear, including Jasmine Guy (Whitley Gilbert), Kadeem Hardison (Dwayne Wayne), Cree Summer (Winifred 'Freddie' Brooks) and Darryl M. Bell (Ron Johnson).

The single-camera comedy is slated to start with 10 half-hour episodes from showrunner and executive producer Felicia Pride. Allen, who produced, directed and acted in the original series, is also returning to executive produce and direct three episodes, including the premiere.

In February, Netflix shared a new behind-the-scenes collage showing different moments from the set of the sequel series, captioning the images: "Freshman class loading!!! Production is officially underway on the A Different World sequel series!"
