Dylan Dreyer is reflecting on moving out of her New York City apartment.

On the Thursday, June 4 episode of her The Parent Chat podcast, the Today show co-host opened up about what it was like to make the move last fall.

Dreyer, who split from her husband Brian Fichera in July 2025, included clips from her family's last moments in the apartment.

“Smile, it's our last video here!” Dreyer told son Russell, 4, as he cried on the floor. “Did you like this house?” she asked a tearful Russell, who replies, “Yeah.”

"This made me just bawl my eyes out," Dreyer said of the clip. “It was the first time I really looked at the different chapters in my life, and it kind of was all summed up in my kids' bedroom.”

“It was just a really special time to look back and reflect on that because we just sold that apartment, and now, it was empty. And that room had seen so much, and now, we were moving on to a new adventure, a new chapter as a family,” she continued.

In an October Instagram post, Dreyer shared nostalgic snaps of her children's bedroom from over the years.

"This room holds a lot of memories and I thank God every day for each and every one of them," she wrote in the post's caption. "And the boys have a whole lifetime of love and dreams ahead of them! Just not in a triple bunk bed!"

Dreyer also shares sons Calvin, 9, and Oliver, 6, with Fichera. The meteorologist filed for divorce from Fichera in March, eight months after she announced their split in an Instagram post.

"For many years, I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between," she wrote. "I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you've given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate," Dreyer wrote in July 2025.

"We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends," she continued. "Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another."

Dreyer went into more detail about the split in a November appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, saying there was something she and Fichera “couldn't fix” in the relationship.

“We are no longer husband and wife, and all those things that were broken, I don't hold them against you because we've accepted they're broken,” she explained. “That's why we're separated. So now let's move forward as friends."

"And I'm not mad at those other things that I was getting mad at before because, just like a friend, you give them a little more grace when you're not married to it. And I can be a better friend than a wife," she continued.

Later in the episode, Dreyer also opened up about moving to the suburbs following the split.

“I found this house, and it is so freeing to be renting again because the kids come home with all this stuff,” she told cohost Jenna Bush Hager. “I love school in the suburbs because they're celebrating all the holidays and they're coming home with, like, scarecrow drawings and that's what they're learning that day.”
