Tom Holland is ready to pass his powers on to the next Spider-Man to don the suit.

Holland, 30, discussed the end of his time as the web-slinging Marvel superhero in an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast on Thursday, July 30.

“There’s a whole plan that we have been working on for, I would say, since we finished [2021’s] Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Holland said. “It’s laid out. It’s gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it’s really exciting.”

“I know I get really excited when we have these meetings and chat about it,” he added. “But that is the thing I want to do most in this character, for sure.”

Holland first appeared as Queens high schooler Peter Parker and his super alter ego Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, before leading his first MCU film, Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017. He also appeared in Avengers: Infinity War in 2018, Avengers: Endgame in 2019, Spider-Man: Far From Home that same year and Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.

The actor is the third to step into the heroic role for the big screen, following Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

The Odyssey star recently opened up about the actor he hopes will play Spider-Man next in an interview with Esquire.

“In the way that Robert Downey was such a mentor for me in my first three movies, I would love to be that person for whoever is next,” Holland told the outlet of his costar, who played Iron Man in the MCU and returns to the franchise as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.

Holland then cast his vote on who he would choose to fill his shoes: Adolescence star Owen Cooper.

“Owen Cooper would be awesome,” Holland told Esquire in June. “Obviously he’s super-talented and the talk of the town right now.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hit theaters on Friday, July 31.
