A man in New Hampshire was seriously injured in a rollover crash on Saturday, July 11, after police say he may have been distracted by his unrestrained dog while driving.
New Hampshire State Police troopers responded to a reported rollover crash on I-293 southbound near Exit 2 in Manchester just before 5 p.m. local time, according to a press release.
Upon arrival, police discovered a 2006 Volvo XC-90 fully turned upside down.
A preliminary investigation showed that the driver, identified as Michael Meucci, 44, may have been distracted by an unrestrained dog within his vehicle, police said.

The press release states that Meucci “lost control” while exiting the F. E. Everett Turnpike off-ramp onto I-293 southbound, causing his vehicle to roll over “multiple times.”
Meucci, who police said was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle through the sunroof, the press release states.
He suffered “serious injuries” and has been transported to an area hospital for treatment, according to police.
An update on the dog’s condition was not given.
Following the incident, traffic on I-293 was reduced to one lane for approximately 45 minutes while the scene was cleaned up.
New Hampshire State Police, who were assisted by members of the Bedford and Manchester fire departments and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, said all aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
