The ‘Queen of the Ring’ star announced her engagement in January 2026, revealing that she popped the question in March 2025

Emily Bett Rickards and her fiancé, Riley Howlett, are married!
The couple said “I do,” a rep for the actress, 34, confirmed to PEOPLE on Tuesday, July 14.
While details about the nuptials were not made public, buzz about a possible wedding between the two began when some of their friends posted photos from an outdoor ceremony.
Television screenwriter Carina Adly MacKenzie posted a carousel of photos on Instagram, jokingly writing, “The summer I watched @rihowlett marry the absolute love of myyyy life.”

The post included a snapshot of the Arrow alum wearing a flowy light green dress next to Howlett, who wore a pale pink suit.
In a photo posted by Netflix social director Jarett Wieselman on Instagram, Rickards and Howlett were seen holding hands against a scenic backdrop.
“Group chat assembled IRL to laugh, cry, and celebrate the love between two of the most special humans ❤️ you @emilybett @rihowlett,” read Wieselman’s caption.

Another friend of the couple, who goes by @greggwithat on Instagram, posted additional photos from the event, including a snapshot of Howlett reading to Rickards as she looked on, smiling.
“I got to see my friends get married!! Had the best weekend laughing, crying and loving with such a great crew,” he captioned the post.
Actress Ashley Sutton also showcased photos from the ceremony on Instagram, calling it a “change of scenery.”
Rickards announced her engagement in a reflective Instagram post on Jan. 1.
“My favourite moment of 2025 was the afternoon in March when Oph and I asked Riley to marry us. Spoiler… He said yes! I cried, Riley cried, Oph… sneezed,” she wrote next to a set of couple photos at the beach.

“I had been planning this for months and just needed 20mins of dry skies,” she wrote. “We knew this would be our last trip to Tofino as a trio and I had been vocal about wanting to take an absurd amount of photos of ‘the baby’ 🐕 on the beach in hopes he wouldn’t be suspicious of my post-surf tripod when/if I could pull this off. This was the perfect spot.”

“It’s one of our favourite horizons because if we fell in love anywhere it was here,” continued Rickards. “2025 taught me a lot about love and even though I’m further than ever from solving life’s mystery whatever happens, I’m so so grateful we’re here to make memories like these. Love you both. Hello, 2026.”
Rickards starred as Felicity Smoak on The CW’s Arrow, and also appeared in crossover episodes of The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. She recently starred in the movie Queen of the Ring.
