Majors alluded to his domestic violence case in a new interview saying the “adversity” he’s faced “took me down to the studs”

Jonathan Majors is reckoning with life after his domestic violence case.
In a Thursday, July 23, interview with RollingStone Africa, Majors and his wife, Meagan Good, discussed their life and giving back through a mentorship initiative for emerging African filmmakers.
“I’ve walked through fire — publicly. I won’t pretend otherwise,” Majors, 36, said, alluding to being found guilty of assault and harassment charges in December 2023. “What that season taught me is that a man is not what the headlines say he is; a man is what he does when the lights go out and it’s just him and God.”
The former Marvel star continued, “Adversity stripped me of everything I thought was mine and gave me back only what was real: my faith, my wife, my craft, my purpose.”

Majors and Good, 44, secretly tied the knot last year after being first linked romantically in May 2023. The Think Like a Man actress was previously married to DeVon Franklin for nine years before splitting in December 2021.

“Every woman has survived something,” Good told RollingStone Africa. “My faith carried me through seasons I didn’t think I’d survive, and the other side of that valley is where I met the fullness of who I am and am still growing into — and, honestly, where I met my husband as the man God shaped him to be.”
Majors’ legal troubles began in March 2023 when he was arrested in New York City in connection with an alleged domestic dispute involving his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. After Majors pleaded not guilty to multiple misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment charges, the months-long case was tried in the New York City Criminal Court with Good by his side.
Months after the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor’s guilty verdict, two more women came forward with more abuse allegations against him.

“I have known a version of the Hollywood mountaintop,” Majors said in the new interview with Rolling Stone Africa. “I have also known the valley — the kind of valley where your name becomes a headline before it becomes a sentence, and every stranger has a verdict before you have a chance to say good morning.”
He added, “I will not pretend that season did not humble me. It did. It took me down to the studs. And when you are down to the studs, you learn what your house was actually built on. What I learned is this: resilience is not a highlight reel. Resilience is Tuesday. It is the therapist’s office at 9 a.m. It is the phone call to somebody you wronged, where your voice shakes and you make the call anyway.”
Majors also said that Good “is with me — every hospital hallway, every hard afternoon, every quiet drive home,” calling her “the steady hand on my back when the room gets heavy.”
Majors’ long-delayed film Magazine Dreams was released in March 2025. He also stars in The Daily Wire’s upcoming Run Hide Fight: Infidels.
