Kim Kardashian is poking fun at herself.

The reality star and entrepreneur made light of her legal journey in a new campaign for UPDATE, the canned beverage brand she co-founded, joking about not passing the bar exam in an ad released Thursday, July 23.

The social media post opens with Kardashian standing behind a podium at a mock press conference as reporters pepper her with questions about her seemingly endless energy.

“People are always asking about all of the work I’ve gotten done…They always ask ‘Kim, how do you do so much? Kim, how do you keep going? Kim, are they really real?’” Kardashian says. “Honestly, my energy is just different.”

When one reporter asks, “Kim, what’s your secret?” Kardashian replies, “No secret, just an update. UPDATE formulated by a team of leading experts, none of whom are me.”

She continues the joke by claiming, “Did you know that people used to crash in the middle of the day? Wild. I thought someone should do something about it.”

When another reporter asks, “Kim, why you?” Kardashian responds, “I wasn’t aware that there was an alternative.”

A follow-up question of “Kim, why now?” prompts another quip from the reality star: “Caffeine just wasn’t working. Working is my thing.”

The commercial then shifts to Kardashian sitting inside a glass display case that resembles a museum exhibit as passersby stop to observe her.

One onlooker jokes, “[When] she said, ‘Get your ass up and work.’ This is not what I pictured.”

The ad ends with a surprise cameo from attorney Gloria Allred, who looks over at Kardashian and asks, “Did she even ever pass the bar?”

Without missing a beat, Kardashian delivers the campaign’s punchline: “No, I didn’t pass the bar. I raised it.”

Speaking to PEOPLE about the campaign, Kardashian said the team loved “sprinkling in fun easter eggs, some humor, and a bit of a wink.”

The company described UPDATE as being powered by paraxanthine, the primary metabolite of caffeine, which is designed to provide sustained energy without jitters, crashes or overstimulation.

Kardashian said the beverage has become part of her daily routine as she balances work and raising her four children — North, 13; Saint, 10; Chicago, 8; and Psalm, 7 — with ex-husband Kanye West.

“I really love taking one before a workout too it gives me that little extra boost, especially after school drop-off when I still have a full day ahead of me,” she said.

The 45-year-old said staying energized starts with being intentional about her everyday habits.

“For me it comes down to being intentional about what I put into my body and my day,” Kardashian said. “That’s actually a big part of why UPDATE resonated with me in the first place. It helps me stay focused, balanced, and present, no matter what my schedule looks like.”

She added that what sets the brand apart is its approach to wellness.

“It’s about feeling good,” Kardashian explained. “Focused, balanced, and productive without the jitters or that crash later. That’s exactly how I think about wellness, so becoming a co-founder and helping build something that’s actually redefining what energy looks like has been amazing.”

She also said fans may be surprised to learn “how much of a routine person” she is.

“The little consistent things make the biggest difference — how I start my morning, what I eat, what I reach for during the day. I’m really intentional about all of it,” she said.
