  • Lisa Rinna told PEOPLE she “needs to be on television” — but she ruled out ever starring in two particular reality shows
  • She most recently appeared in season 4 of The Traitors
  • I’ve pretty much done them all, and the ones that I shouldn’t do, I’ve passed on,” Rinna said of her decades-long reality TV career

Lisa Rinna has starred in numerous reality TV series over the decades — but she says there are two shows she will never do.

While chatting with PEOPLE exclusively at the Television Academy’s 2026 Televerse Festival in Los Angeles last month, the 63-year-old actress shut down any chance of fans seeing her face the Tribal Council on Survivor or move into the Celebrity Big Brother house.

“No Survivor and no Big Brother, none of that. No, no,” Rinna insisted, joking, “We’re couture.”

Reflecting on her reality TV career, the Melrose Place alum went on to say, “I’ve pretty much done them all, and the ones that I shouldn’t do, I’ve passed on.”

“The thing is, I need to be on television, so we need to find me a show,” she continued. “So hurry up, so hurry up.”

Rinna competed in season 2 of Dancing with the Stars in 2006. Four years later, in 2010, she and her husband, Harry Hamlin, took cameras inside their marriage and family life with daughters Delilah and Amelia for the TV Land series Harry Loves Lisa.

The Days of Our Lives actress was a contestant in The Apprentice in 2011, followed by The Celebrity Apprentice in 2014. That same year, she began her eight-season run on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

More recently, she starred in season 4 of The Traitors.

Rinna has especially fond memories of her time on DWTS, telling PEOPLE that competing for the Mirrorball Trophy changed her life “for the better.”

“It was life-changing, truly,” she said. “It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done. It really is. I’ll never forget it, and I wish I could do it again.”

Explaining that doing the show helped her get her “mojo back” after welcoming her second child, Amelia, she added, “I think what it does is it just opens you up. It opened me up in a way. It freed me. I don’t know how to say it. It just freed me, and then your confidence is up, and you just have fun.”

During a March 2024 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Rinna looked back on her longest reality TV stint, RHOBH, revealing that the Bravo show had a positive impact on her acting career.

“It has made me a better actor,” she said at the time. “I’m acting again [and] I’m not kidding — you laugh, but it’s true. I think it made me a better actor.”

“Working with those women, going through that experience… I just did a movie called Mommy Meanest, which I trained for for 8 years on that show,” she continued, referencing her Lifetime movie about a teenager who is secretly cyber-bullied by her own mother. “I definitely did, and I had a lot to pull from. I have a lot to pull from after working for 8 years on that show — different psychologies of different women I never would have come across that if I hadn’t done that show.”

Despite the benefits to her acting craft, Rinna said she would “never” consider a return to the RHOBH.

“I wouldn’t,” she said. “I’m grateful for that show. I’m the person I am today because of it, but I’ll never go back. Nope, I did it. Did it, done it, saw the movie.”
