  • Mahone’s husband arrived home with just minutes to spare and assisted with the delivery while on the phone with 911 dispatch
  • The mom and her newborn were taken to the hospital and are both healthy following the unexpected home birth

A mom delivered a baby in the doorway of a Georgia garage in just nine minutes, and a Ring doorbell camera captured it all.

Christina Mahone, 37, said she started getting contractions about four hours before her water broke just after 2 p.m. local time on June 12, according to SWNS.

That’s when the mom decided it was time to go to the hospital. Her daughter Mercy, 12, called her husband Damien, 39, who was already on his way home.

But the baby did not wait. Less than 10 minutes after Christina’s water broke, she gave birth in the garage.

Her husband managed to arrive home minutes beforehand and worked with 911 dispatch to help deliver the baby girl, Scotti Ann Mahone.

“It was so quick and fast — it was crazy,” said Christina, of Douglasville.

Christina said her contractions were not “intense” before her water broke, according to SWNS.

After her water broke, Christina and her daughter rushed to the garage “to put everything in the car.” But before they could leave, Christina suddenly felt the need to push.

Ring doorbell footage shared by SWNS showed Mercy helping her mom as she wailed in pain while her dad checked in over the system.

Soon after, Damien arrived home and got on the phone with 911 dispatch, SWNS reported. Three minutes later, Scotti was born.

The Ring doorbell footage showed Christina working with her husband to deliver the baby. She described the situation as “an out-of-body experience,” according to SWNS.

“My husband caught her. I couldn’t even communicate to him what to do,” Christina recalled.

Scotti weighed 9 lbs. and measured 20 inches long when she was born at 2:12 p.m., SWNS said.

The mom and her newborn were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta following the unexpected home birth.

Christina said she and her baby “are both doing so well,” noting that Scotti “is a healthy and happy baby.”

The mom commended her kids, including her young son, for how they handled the situation, according to SWNS.

She also applauded her husband for his “amazing” efforts. “He was so calm, and I couldn’t have had a better partner,” the mom said.
