This season, I made a vow to avoid jeans as much as possible, and opt for pieces that are comfortable, breathable, and, frankly, a little more fun to style. My latest inspiration? Olivia Wilde’s casual summer outfit.
The actress stepped out in white trousers, a black T-shirt, and matching black leather loafers, creating a simple outfit that might sound basic but looked beyond polished. To recreate this look, I headed to Quince to find strikingly similar pieces for less starting at just $16.

Still, the relaxed silhouette lets you dress them up or down, which is great for running errands or heading to dinner. Plus, they’re made from lightweight linen that’s cool and breathable — a must for hot summer days. Since I have a petite frame, I was happy to see that one shopper likes that the pants “flow without overwhelming their 5-foot-2 frame.”

Organic Cotton Boxy Crewneck Tee

The second part of Wilde’s no-fuss look is the contrasting black tee and matching accessories. This boxy crewneck from Quince has a similarly cropped design, which lets small details like a coordinating black leather belt shine. It’s also made from 100 percent organic cotton for a soft, breathable feel. I’m stocking up on this essential that one customer calls a “perfect staple for your closet” to wear with white trousers, jeans, skirts, and more.

While I typically reach for loafers in the fall and winter, Wilde reminded me to opt for a comfortable, supportive pair during summer, too. Her leather loafers look so similar to this version from Quince, which have a classic silhouette that can be worn to the office, brunch, or night out. Thanks to the Ortolite insole, I feel confident they’ll be comfortable for prolonged periods, and the buffed outsole adds traction that’ll keep me from slipping (unfortunately, a problem I’ve experienced in the past)
